Tennis Instruction / Videotape Analysis

Digial videotaping is the biggest breakthrough in the history of tennis instruction. It allows the player and coach to actually SEE what the player is doing on paper (or computer screen) and to compare their technique to a higher level player. When you do this, it becomes immediately clear what needs to be worked on. With traditional teaching, neither the coach, nor the player, ever get to see what the player is doing duing the critical phases of their strokes. And they are also unable to directly compare the students technique to that of a proper model. Tennis becomes a guessing game based on the coaches impressions of what is happening. Video takes the guess work out and makes everything visible to both teacher and student.

After years of videotaping students, I find that small technical errors are what prevent people from playing tennis at high levels. And these small problems are almost impossible to spot with the naked eye, especially if the instructor is standing on the other side of the net feeding balls at you.

By videotaping your strokes and comparing them to a pro model, you will be able to improve your game faster, than you can imagine. By matching a pro model, you can often see dramatic results in just one lesson.
