Open the Shoulders/Torso First

Many players, like Chela and Petrova, open their torsos and shoulders completely to the net as the butt cap of the racket points at the ball. This creates a stretch and pull of the double bend, which lags behind. The opening torso is, in a sense, pulling the double bend forward - and the butt cap of the racket is leading the way.

There is really a "double" pull occuring here. The torso opens and pulls the double bend and the double bend, with the butt cap of the racket leading the way - is pulling the racket.

By having the larger torso open and pull the double bend, which pulls the racket, the player creates a stretch/pull dynamic Energy is being transferred from the core of the body outward, with one segment leading the next.

Start opening the shoulders as you lower the double bend and lay the wrist back and down.
